4/26/2023 0 Comments Bitwarden or 1password reddit![]() While both have good, working apps, I kinda liked 1password's desktop app more, while on the browser side I noticed that their extension (for FF at least) tended to lag. I've been using Bitwarden for almost a year, and I tried 1password for a couple of weeks. If you're already using LastPass then I consider Bitwarden to be better to give you perspective. I think if you give Bitwarden more time it's for sure to become a leader. Bitwarden will only save the username and password for a new site which is fine 80% of the time but 1Password will save every form on that page which has saved me because things like security questions were on it. Also, 1Password takes the save everything approach which I found to be super helpful. My biggest gripe with Bitwarden is the fact that it doesn't ask to save updated passwords when you change them and 1Password is really good at seeing when you change or updated your passwords. Sharing passwords is easier and less confusing, the pricing model on Bitwarden is kind of confusing because you would think with the premium you would get all features but its extra to share to more than 1 person. Watchtower is so much better than the check one password at a time in Bitwarden. I find the passphrase generator to be a must for some passwords and Bitwarden lacks it. The support team is quicker to respond since its more than one person working at 1Password. ![]() The secret key is a very smart way to go about encrypting passwords on there server, this should be a standard practice of all password managers. I find that 1Password has more features and not only looks better but is more well thought-out. ![]() Bitwarden is what I usually recommend to people who are new to password managers and just want to test the idea out. I find 1Password to be better but for a free password manager Bitwarden is really good.
